Team Projects

Himalayan Hands Set up and organised 7 different team projects through organisations already working in Nepal based all over the country from the flat terri to the high mountains.

The team projects were as follows:

HRA - Himalayan Rescue Association Fundraise for and deliver an oxygen concentrator to health post at Manang, on the Annapurna Trekking Circuit. The oxygen concentrator provides life saving treatment for Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) affecting both tourists and locals.

INF - International Nepal Fellowship Working with primary school children in Nepalganj, Western Nepal. Encouraging primary school attendance, particularly by slum children and those children working as domestic servants.

LECC - Lions Eye Care Clinic Repair and renovation of eye hospital. Grading of donated lenses. Cateract operations in rural eye camps and postop care.

NLT - Nepal Leprosy Trust Physiotherapy assessment, treatment and education at a Lal Gadh leprosy hospital, Janakpur. Aiding in the rehabilitation, provision of equipment and promoting self care techniques. Also assessment of water supply at hospital.

Phortse - Phortse Village Development Working in a mountain village near Everest to complete a new school, renovate an old school build a telecomms room and work with the children.

Salleri - Salleri Eco-Tourism Undertaking an eco-tourism survey from a Westerners point of view of the lower Solu Khumbu Valley beneath everest. Complete exploratory treks to establish new trekking routes. Work with the village on development projects.

SPW - Student Partnerships Worldwide School Construction near Chitwan National Park. Working with the local villagers to construct a new school.
